Mrs. Katie (Hargrove) Guess, 71, of Union City died suddenly Saturday, April 21, 2012, at her home.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Fred Gardner will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Hargrove, Ryan Hargrove, Dr. Bill Horner, Todd Guess, Benny McGuire and Ralph Puckett.
Mrs. Guess was born November 9, 1940, in Obion County, daughter of the late Lovie Christine (Gray) and Richard S. Hargrove Sr. She married Homer Guess on February 16, 1970. He died January 19, 1991. She was retired from the Obion County Election Commission where she served as administrator. She was a member of Bethlehem Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her son, Mark Guess of Union City; two grandsons, Caleb Chance Farmer and Andrew Cole Guess both of Union City; four brothers, Arnold R. Hargrove of Bowdon, Georgia, Jerry R. Hargrove of Union, South Carolina, David G. Hargrove of Springfield and Richard S. Hargrove Jr. of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Kelly Farmer Guess.
