Kathy Sue (Norwood) Yates, 63, of Union City passed away 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery near Huntingdon.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Kathy was born February 26, 1953, in Roanoke, Virginia, daughter of the late Raymond Eureka and Opal Loretta (Cable) Norwood. She had been employed at E.W. James & Sons and Tyson Foods. Kathy was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer Yates and Julie (Jerome) Leath all of Union City; one son, Jonathan (Melisa) Yates of Union City; three grandchildren, Olivia Yates, Taylor Leath and Jake Leath all of Union City; and one step granddaughter, Nicole Oliver of Union City.

She was also preceded by one sister, Carolyn Ann Norwood; and one brother, Raymond Norwood.
