Kathleen was born November 22, 1970, in North Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of the late Aaron Elton Baxter and Shirley Jean (Warner) Baxter. She married Luke Parker May 29, 1993. He survives. Kathleen graduated in 1989 as Valedictorian of her class at Oak Grove High School in Missouri. She graduated from Central Methodist University with a Bachelors in Music with honors in 1993 and had recently earned her Masters in Music Education from there as well. Kathleen was the elementary music teacher at Union City Elementary School where she produced many musicals and concerts. She taught private lessons in piano, drums, and marimba and previously taught Kindermusik for many years. Kathleen was the accompanist and choir director at Antioch Union Church and served as the treasurer of the Martin Area Music Teacher's Association in Martin. She was co-owner with her husband of KP Maintenance, Luke Parker Photography, and Parker's Lawn Service. A featured soloist throughout her college career at Swinney Conservatory of Music at CMU, Kathleen was selected as a member of the McDonald's All American Band in high school. She was a member of many district, conference and state bands. Kathleen was a active member of Second Baptist Church in Union City where she was a member of the choir and church orchestra. She enjoyed baking and candy making and spending time shopping with her mother and was an avid reader. Kathleen was privileged to extend her efforts to fundraising with her family for St. Jude Children's Hospital. She was an exceptional daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, great aunt, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law and friend to countless others. Kathleen was a giving and caring person who always had a smile or hug to share. Of all Kathleen's honors and accomplishments, her highest priority and biggest source of pride was in her partnership with Luke in raising their boys. She was always thinking of others and was the best mother that a child could ever have. Zach, Mason, and Caleb shined and continue to excel under the love, encouragement and motivation of their parents. Raising them in a Christian home and faith, and instilling in them the belief that there was no limit to what they could do was important. Kathleen and Luke were and are blessed daily by watching them grow into wonderful young men who have attained many great accomplishments, and like their mother, touch many lives.

Kathleen is also survived by her sons, Zachary Parker and Mason Parker both of Martin and Caleb Parker of Union City; two brother and one sister, Bill Baxter of Oak Grove, Missouri, Jean Hansen (Corey) of Kansas City, Missouri, and David Baxter (Alex) of Los Angeles, California; two nieces, Lara Wojtowicz (Scott) and their son James of Oak Grove, Missouri and Kelsey Kaestner (Chris) of the Kansas City area; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tom and Vada Parker of Troy; her brother-in-law, Lee Parker (Cindy) of Troy; her sister-in-law, Linda Lewis (Michael) of Montgomery City, Missouri; and many nieces, nephews and other family members from this area.

A scholarship fund in Kathleen's memory has been established to support future students of music continue their education. Donations are asked, in lieu of flowers or gifts, and may be mailed to Union City Rotary Foundation, Kathleen Parker Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 275, Union City, Tennessee 38281.
