Ms. Karen Marie Durant "Boo", 72, of Union City passed away 4:47 p.m. Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

Karen was born January 4, 1949, in Hyde Park, New York, daughter of the late Robert and Lauramarie (Styers) Elmendorf. She was member of Hitts Chapel Church in Piggott, Arkansas. Karen was a loving mother, Nan, fur mom and friend to many.

She is survived by three daughters, Billie Swatzell (Mike) of Tennessee; Laura Corter of Arkansas and Mary Mattix (Tim) of Tennessee; one son, Richard Durant (Anna) of Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Misty Corter of Arkansas, Brandon Mattix of Tennessee, Marina Mattix of Tennessee, Bethany Mattix of Tennessee, Janna Poe (Josh) of Arkansas, Scottie Corter (Mikel) of Arkansas, Derrick Harris (Amanda) of Arkansas and Jessica Zimmerman (Mark) of Arkansas; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Pat Schmidt of Arkansas and Gloria Nivens of North Carolina; and three brothers, Eddie Elmendorf of North Carolina, Charlie Elmendorf of Arkansas and Billy Elmenforf of New York.

She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Scott Corter; three sisters; and one brother.
