Judith Lynn "Judy" (Pewitt) King, 81, of Union City passed away 9:13 a.m. Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at her home.
Graveside services will be conducted 12:00 p.m Saturday at Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy. David Kendall will officiate.
Pallbearers will be family members.
There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Judy was born November 9, 1941, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, daughter of the late Raymond Edward Pewitt, Jr. and the late Merye Kathryn (Brantley) Perry. She married Alonzo King November 26, 1959 at Rives Church of Christ. They would have celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary on November 26th this year. They moved to Michigan in 1968 and retired and moved to Union City in 1998. Judy had been employed at Sears in St. Clair Shores, Michigan and Hudson's Department Store and Reliance Insurance both in Troy, Michigan. She was a member of Rives Church of Christ. Judy was a great cook, seamstress, enjoyed shopping and enjoyed family gatherings and Christmas was her favorite holiday of the year. She was a wonderful mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Alonzo King of Union City; three children and their spouses, Marilynn and Ted Goodwin of Appleton, Wisconsin, Lon and Deana King of Chesterfield, Michigan and Belinda and John Belasco of Lapeer, Michigan; one sister, Kathryn "Snookie" Capps of Union City; one step brother, Jimmy Perry of Paris, Tennessee; five grandchildren, Tabitha Mooney, Jessica Belasco, Emily Meulemans, John "Perry" Belasco and Mason Goodwin; and nine great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her half sister, Merye Elaine Perry; and her grandparents, Bill and Roma Brantley and Raymond Edward Pewitt, Sr. and Lura (Milner) Pewitt.
