Mrs. Juanita (Jones) Roney, 79, of Union City died peacefully in her sleep Monday morning, July 22, 2013, at
the home of her daughter Bridgett Hopgood in Dyersburg.

Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Obion County Memorial Gardens. Brother James Kinsey will officiate.

There will be no visitation. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Jerry Dyer, John Radford, Neal Rice, Leroy Segraves, Jerry Williams, Dr. Howard Ragsdale and Bob Robison.

Honorary pallbearers will be Ralph Adams, Don Gray and Arthur Melton.

Mrs. Roney was born October 14, 1933, in Weakley County, daughter of the late Gilbert Lee Jones and the late Ruth (Douglas) Jones Lacewell. She married Dwayne T. Roney April 8, 1950. He died October 7, 1997. Mrs. Roney retired after 18 years of services as office manager of The Doctors Clinic in Union City. She was a charter member of Second Baptist Church in Union City and The Good Samaritan Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Jones Walker V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Bridgett and Benny Hopgood of Dyersburg; her son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Kim Roney of Union City; six grandchildren, Brittany Surr of Union City and Hillary Hollis, Heath Hopgood, Halle Hopgood, Rylee Hopgood and Reece Hopgood all of Dyersburg; and two great granddaughters, Lily Surr of Union City and Mia Hollis of Dyersburg.
