Mrs. Joyce Inez Thomas, 85, of Union City went home to be with the Lord at 8:15 a.m. Saturday, April 12, 2014, at Golden Living Center in Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Tommy Hall will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Monday.
Pallbearers will be Colton Rinker, Connor Rinker, Teddy Montgomery, Tim Quinn, Ron Bates, Ken Asher, Tom Owens and Farris Duncan.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne McClure, George Goddard, Dave Stewman, Pete Cooley and Vanoy Cox.
Mrs. Thomas was born August 14, 1928, in Talihina, Oklahoma, daughter of the late James L. and Beatrice (Engram) Ledford. She married Ruben R. Thomas June 5, 1947. He died January 27, 1993. Mrs. Thomas had been employed in the dietary department at the former Obion County General Hospital and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Union City.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Steve Vaughn of Union City; her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Barbara Thomas of Union City; two granddaughters and their husbands, Rhonda and Michael Rinker of Union City and Julie and Brad Carraway of Dyersburg; and four great grandchildren, Colton Rinker of Dresden, Connor Rinker of Union City and Hannah Carraway and Chloe Carraway both of Dyersburg.
She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Ruby Lois Thomas; her twin brother, Louis Ledford and her brother, James Ledford.
