Obituary

Mrs. Joy Ingram Prather, 82, of Obion and a former resident of Union City died 11:05 p.m. Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

Mrs. Prather was born February 16, 1928, in Obion County, daughter of the late Samuel Nesbitt and Helen (Cheatham) Payne. She was a retired employee of the former Salant & Salant and a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City.

She is survived by her husband, James Prather of Union City; her son, William Prather of Winder, Georgia; three grandchildren, Noelle Hood of Obion, Amber Davidson of Memphis and Erik Davidson of Murfreesboro; five great grandchildren, Halie Hood and Lindy Hood both of Obion, and Gage Davidson, Gavin Davidson and Gareth Davidson all of Murfreesboro and her sister, Sarah Chandler of Union City.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda (Prather) Davidson and three sisters.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Rick Booth, Neal Black, Gerald Hollis, Ed Cook, Donald Bloxom and Richard Hood.
