She was born October 16, 1973, in Union City, to Robert N. "Bobby" Johnson of Reelfoot Lake and Wanda Lee Williams of Southaven, Mississippi.

Joy was known to all she met as a friend. Her bright smile, wit, willingness and desire to help everyone were traits that set her apart from the crowd. Her zest for life and take charge attitude was with her till her last breath.

She graduated from Obion County Central High School in 1991 and TCAT in Newbern. Joy was a graduate of Obion County Leadership Class of 1998-1999. Joy had been a credentialing specialist for many years for medical groups from Memphis and Nashville. She would be the first to tell you that working with David Hamilton and the Obion County Industrial Development Corporation alongside Johnna Reeder Kleymeyer with Obion County Chamber of Commerce were her most rewarding "work days."

Joy is survived by her parents; her loving step-mother, Gail Johnson of Reelfoot Lake; her four first boyfriends (brothers), Jock  Johnson (Kim) and Jai Johnson all of Union City, Bill Richards (Ginger) of Byhalia, Mississippi and Tim Williams of Hernando, Mississippi; and the love of her life, her fiance' Brian Aldridge of Union City; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, John E. and Elisabeth Johnson and her maternal grandparents, Bill Williams and Dorothy Grider.
