Johnnie Cook, 90, of Union City passed away 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Tommy Hall will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Friday.

Pallbearers will be Jason Norton, Chad Norton, Chase Norton, Brian Johnson, John Pair and Allen Posey.

Johnnie was born May 4, 1933, in Baldwyn, Mississippi, son of the late John Henderson and Mattie Lou (Blasingame) Cook. He married Peggy (Pinion) Cook May 12, 1956. She preceded him in death August 13, 2021. Johnnie had been employed as a mechanic and retired from the United States Postal Service. He served in the United States Army in Germany during the Korean War. Johnnie had been a member of Union City First Assembly of God for 65 years.

He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Norton of Union City; his son, Jon Kerry Cook (Debbie MacClary) of Gallatin; four grandchildren, Amy Johnson and husband Brian and Jason Norton and wife Andrea all of Union City, Chad Norton and wife Amanda of Hornbeak and Abby MacClary of Hendersonville; five great grandchildren, Brianna Johnson, Adison Norton and Adley Beth Norton all of Union City and Chase Norton and Cloe Norton both of Hornbeak; and his sister and brother-in-law, Easter and David Owens of Union City.

He was also preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Katelyn Johnson; two sisters; and seven brothers.
