Mr. Johnnie Rufus Bryant, 85, of Union City passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday. There will be no funeral services.

Johnnie was born January 7, 1934, in Pensacola, Florida, son of the late Thomas Uzemr and Ada (Wilson) Bryant. He married Patsy June (Ferrell) Bryant February 8, 1958. She died September 7, 2011. He retired from the former Goodyear and Tire Rubber Company in Union City and was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during the Korean War.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan Hoffman (Richard) of Union City; his son, Robert Rufus Bryant of Union City; four grandchildren, Jessica Sadler of Troy, Amber Bryant and Clint Bryant of Union City, and Jake Lawrence (Ashley) of Paris; and seven great-grandchildren, Cameron Sadler of Troy, Avery Decker, Bailey Decker and Zachary Thomas all of Union City, Karson Lawrence and Ayden Lawrence of Paris, and Gunner Harrell of Troy.

He was also preceded in death by his great granddaughter, Kaitlyn Sadler; one brother, Thomas Bryant, and one sister, Mary Brewer.
