Obituary

Johnie Lee Johnson, 76, of Samburg passed away 3:40 p.m Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Living Word Church in Hornbeak. Brother Archie Larry will officiate. Cremation will follow the service. A private graveside service will be held for the family at a later date.

Visitation will be held at Living Word Church from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.

Pallbearers will be Timbo Smith, Kyle Homra, Jamil Homra, Calius Hockett, Dustin Brewer, Christopher Quinn, John Paul Arnett and Patrick Johnson.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Johnie was born January 10, 1949, in Samburg, son of the late Carlos Ike and Mary Leon (Reed) Johnson Gamble. He married Linda (Pare') Lyon Johnson January 1, 2019. Johnie served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971 and served with B Company 2/8 Fourth Division Panthers. He had been employed at the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company and was a member of Trenton Crossing Church of Christ in Clarksville. Johnie enjoyed camping, traveling and watching his grandchildren play sports.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Lyon Johnson of Samburg; one daughter, Jessica Johnson ( Julius "Spunky") of Samburg; three sons, Trent Johnson of Paducah, Kentucky, Brian Johnson (Kristan) of Hornbeak and Zac Johnson of Samburg; two bonus children, Landon Lyon (Melinda) of Pegram and Stacia Ruger (Jay) of Clarksville; eleven grandchildren, Keiden Akers and Raelynn McElrath both of Samburg, Addyson Johnson, Kyndal Johnson, John Brayton "J.B." Johnson all of Hornbeak, Catlin Lyon of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, Chase Moore (Kim), Bryce Ruger, Trenton Ruger and Ashlyn Ruger all of Clarksville and Rheagan Moore of Union City; three sisters, Laura McTurner (Doyle) of Union City, Tammy Gamble of Samburg and Libby Wade of Elbridge; and one brother, Tom Johnson (Barbara) of Samburg.

He was also preceded in death by one infant daughter, Ashley Nicole Johnson; one sister, Janet Shirley; and three brothers, Jimmy "Jimbo" Gamble, Bobby Gamble and Danny Johnson.
