Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013, at First United Methodist Church in Hokes Bluff, Alabama. Rev. Elvis Cochran will officiate.

Visitation will be held at the church from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Thursday.

Mr. Vinson was born July 30, 1953, in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Becky (Reaves) Vinson. He married Angelia (Rushing) Vinson October 24, 1987. She survives. Mr. Vinson had been employed at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Gadsden, Alabama and Union City. Tennessee. He retired after thirty two years of service with the company. Mr. Vinson was a member of First United Methodist Church in Hokes, Bluff, Alabama.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Paula "The Grim Reaper" Davis with Baptist Memorial Hospice in Union City.

He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Matt Carroll of Hokes, Bluff, Alabama; two sons and his daughter-in-law, Lucas and Rhonda Vinson of Hokes Bluff, Alabama and Matthew Vinson of Union City; his sister, Jamie Daniel of Gadsden, Alabama; his brother, Ricky Venn of Gadsden, Alabama; five grandchildren, David Vinson, Stephanie Vinson, Elisabeth Vinson and Lucas James Carroll all of Hokes Bluff, Alabama and Skylar Vinson of Union City.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, James "Bucky" Venn.
