Mr. John Paul Carlton, 76, of Trenton, TN, left his earthly home at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday October 5, 2016.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Dave Powell will officiate. Burial will follow at Mayfield Cemetery , located in the Eaton Community.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.

Pallbearers will be members of the family.

In leau of flowers, the family has asked for a memorial donation be made to Mayfiled Cemetery, 22 John Warmath Rd., Trenton, TN  38382.

John Paul was born March 7, 1940, in Hickman, KY, son of the late Jesse Able and Mary Lee (Fulcher) Carlton. He took Mrs. Shirley (Smith) Carlton's hand in marriage July 30, 1960, she survives.  J.P., as most of his family called him, was a life long truck driver; driving most of his career at Akin&Porter in Greenfield TN.  He also loved spending time with his family, including their two dogs.

John Paul is survived by his daughter Rhonda Carlton of Trenton; his daughter and son-in-law Wanda and Tony Poore of Trenton; his two grandchildren, Ashley(Cody) Martin of Union City and Jonathan Poore of Martin; his adored great-grandchild, Ryleigh Martin of Union City; one brother, Gerald Carlton of Trenton; five sisters, Sandra Ernest of Trenton, Vickie Lucky of Medina, Maggie Barnard of Oak Ridge TN, Shelia McCaig of Dyer, and Georgie Lemmings of Trenton; and several nieces and nephews.

He is also preceded in death by one daughter, Paula Ann, and one brother Billy Jo Carlton.
