John Hayes Bunch, 60, of Union City died 10:15 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. Rev. Eddie Mallonee and Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate.
Mr. Bunch was born October 22, 1949, in Tiptonville, son of Dot (Byrd) Bunch of Samburg and the late George D. Bunch Sr. He was a 1967 graduate of Obion County Central High School and attended Holmes Junior College in Goodman, MS. He married the former Linda Trantham on July 18, 1970. She survives. He was self -employed, a honorary member of the Obion County Rescue Squad, a former board member of the Obion County Fair and a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City.
He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Candy (Bunch) and Corey Earley of Union City; his son and his fiancé, John "Hayes" Bunch II of Kansas City, Missouri and Jessica Palmieri of Miami, Florida; his granddaughter, Macy Earley of Union City; his sister and brother-in-law, Jennifer and Allen Lyle of Samburg; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Tim Bunch and George Bunch Jr. and Linda Bunch all of Samburg; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Robbie Speed of Union City; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Andy Bunch and his niece, Shannon Lari Speed.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Trey Bunch, Zach Bunch, Adam Lyle, J.B. Murphy, Jamie Powell, Rob Hurt, Oscar Wynne and Opie Wynne.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Speed and Allen Lyle.
