Mr. John Cude Buchanan, 88, of Troy passed away 10:10 p.m. Sunday, June 20, 2021, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Troy United Methodist Church. John Kerr will officiate. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ken McCorkle, Bill Brooks, Stanley Pruiett, Bryan Hutson, Gray Scott, Neal Dodson, Rob Muse, Jodie Baldridge, Bobby Griffin and Mike Sanders.

Visitation will be held at Troy United Methodist Church from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Troy United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children's Hospital .

Mr. John was born November 16, 1932, in Troy, Tn., son of the late John K. and Ruth (Cude) Buchanan. He married Barbara (Johnson) Buchanan June 20, 1953. She survives. He worked for AT&T for 38 years and was a member of the Telephones Pioneers. Mr. John was the 2nd oldest member of Troy United Methodist Church.

He is also survived by one son, Gary Buchanan (Rana) of Troy; one daughter, Teri Rogers (Barry) of Dyersburg; four grandchildren, Lindsey St. Cyr (Jason) of Toronto, Canada, Whitney McCullar (John) of Medina, Garrett Buchanan (Rebecca) of Troy and Taylor Rogers of Dyersburg; adopted grandchildren, Elizabeth Hoffman and Autumn Hoffman both of Reelfoot Lake; and six great grandchildren, Carter, John Garrett, Gray, Myles, Owen and Evan.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Ruth Scott and Lucille Moss.
