Mr. Joe David Williams, 75, of Union City died 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Union City. Brother Terry Griffin and Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Williams was born December 29, 1934, in Greenfield, Tennessee, son of the late Arthur Jackson and Evelyn (Waldon) Williams. He married the former Ann Finney on August 10, 1957. She survives. Joe was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon and had been Sunday School teacher. He retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 24 years of service and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.

He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Jo Ann and Ricky Horton of Union City; his son, Kerry Williams of Union City; six grandchildren and the spouse of one; C.J. and Shannon Williams, Nikki Williams and Will Horton all of Union City, Jentri Gilbert of Martin and Gary Horton and Jennifer Horton both of Springfield, Oregon; two sisters, Louise Hornbeak of Greenfield and Evelyn Legens of Martin; and his brother, Jerry Lynn Williams of Union City.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Doris Wilbanks and Gloria Campbell and five brothers, James Williams, Harold Williams, Bobby Williams, Roy Williams and Donald Williams.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday and at Calvary Baptist Church from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Tim Hornbeak, Greg Hornbeak, Rick Legens, Steve Legens, Chris Legens, Kenny Ray, Adam Williams and Jason Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Victory Sunday School class at Calvary Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund , 2250 East Reelfoot Avenue, Union City, Tennessee. 38261
