Mr. Joe Carl Bratton, 66, of Tiptonville died Friday, March 22, 2013, at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center. He was a former resident of Obion County.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Cobbs Chapel Cemetery near Hornbeak.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Mr. Bratton was born August 15, 1946, in Yardell, Arkansas, son of the late Charlie and Mary Francis (Farmer) Bratton. He had been employed as a carpenter and served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Still) Whitson Bratton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark and Wendy Bratton of Martin and Brandon Bratton of Tiptonville; two grandchildren, Will Bratton and Maggie Bratton both of Martin; his brother, Lonnie Bratton of Obion; and three sisters, Genevieve Powers and Phyllis Joseph both of the Clayton community and Pauline Semancick of Chaffee, Missouri.
He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond "Buddy" Bratton and Billy Charles Bratton; and three sisters, Ava Rose, Geraldine Morse and Nellie Newman.
