Obituary

Mrs. Joan Elaine Jones, 74, of Union City passed away 5:00 a.m. Friday, June 23, 2023, at her home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home.  Brother Jack Henry will officiate.  Burial will follow in Mt. Manuel Cemetery near Walnut Log.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Brad Scheland, David Scheland, Charles Harrison, Terry Basham, David Higgins and Ronnie Jones.

Joan was born December 5, 1948, in the Walnut Log community, daughter of the late George B. Basham and Opal (Carter) Basham Jones.  She married Raymond Cecil Jones June 10, 1966.  He survives.  She was a dental assistant for many years for Dr. R.A. Wicks in Hickman, Kentucky and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church.

She is also survived by her son, Steve Jones (Carla) of Union City; her daughter, Christie Jones of Union City; three grandchildren, Amber Bradshaw of Paducah, Kentucky, Tyler Medley of Union City and Jessica Milam of South Fulton; eleven great grandchildren, Kera, Kylen, Kaylee, Kason, Ryan, Lucy, Drake, Jaxton, Julianne, Jenna and Jude; her brother, Kenneth Basham (Judy) of Jackson; her sister, Cheryl Kirk of the Shawtown community; and her fur baby, Watson.

She was also preceded in death by six brothers and sisters.
