Obituary

Mr. Jimmy Allen Winsett, 79, of Union City passed away 4:30 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2022, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Graveside services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Monday at Stovall Cemetery near Rives. Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate.

There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at service time.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial to: Wounded Warrior Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

Jimmy was born July 8, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, son of the late Walter Allen and Mabel Pearl (Little) Winsett. He married Janice (Harris) Winsett February 17, 2012. She survives. He worked at the former Superior Fireplace in Union City for 27 years. Jimmy was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam conflict and was of the Baptist faith.

He is also survived by two sons, Tony Allen Winsett of Union City and Kevin Lynn Winsett (Laura) of Evansville, Indiana; one daughter, Cayce Nicole Driggers (Jeffrey) of Union City; one sister, Libbye Hayes (Robert) of Union City; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and his caregiver, Brittany Winston.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Mary Lou Ward; and his step father, Henry Anderson Hicks.
