Mr. James Vernon "Jimmy" Vaughn, 68, of Union City died 4:07 a.m. Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Jerry Leggett will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Vaughn, Chaise Vaughn, Kevin Frazier, Chris Frazier, Dennis Frazier and Frank Maceri.
Honorary pallbearers will be former co workers at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company.
Jimmy was born June 16, 1946, in Alexandria, Louisiana, son of the late George Vernon and Frances Louise (Scherger) Vaughn. He married Peggy (Wilson) Vaughn July 17, 1971. She survives. Jimmy retired after 38 years of service as a computer programmer for the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Union City. He worked in concessions for Union City High School football and basketball games and baseball games at Graham Park. Jimmy was an avid supporter of the Union City High School Band program. He also had served in the United States Navy.
He is also survived by one daughter, Tammy Vaughn Eason of Union City; one son, Ricky Vaughn of Union City; one sister, Jeanne Frazier of St. Peters, Missouri; three grandchildren, Kayla Eason and Chaise Vaughn both of Union City and Kelsey Eason of Chattanooga; and several nieces and nephews including Chris Frazier, Kevin Frazier and David Adkins.
