James Dale "Jimmy" Pursell, 83, of Cayce, Kentucky passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, at his home.

There will be no services.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

Jimmy was born April 20, 1942, in Fulton, Kentucky, son of the late James Calvin and Opal (Bryant) Pursell. He was the widower of Phyllis Ann (Kennedy) Pursell who preceded him in death on August 1, 2015. Jimmy had served in the United States Army and the United States Navy. An avid firearms enthusiast, Jimmy was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Jones Walker Post 4862. He was a retired mechanic.

He is survived by one daughter, Debbie Crow (Tim) of Troy; two sons, Billy Pursell (Brandy) of Cayce, Kentucky and Calvin Goodman of Kansas City, Missouri; six grandchildren, Alex Lewis (Josh) of Martin, Lance Barnes of Hickman, Kentucky, Logan Barnes (Joanna) of Bowling Green, Kentucky, Brian Goletto (Stacey) of Union City, Hannah Goodman of Kansas City, Missouri and Will Pursell of Union City; and six great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Barnes.
