Jimmy Murl Neal, 87, of Union City went home to be with the Lord Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Obion County Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Greater Vision Church in Troy. Pastor Robin Rotgers and Pastor Danny Neal will officiate. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Greater Vision Church from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Michael Argo, Brandon Neal, Josh Barner, Houston Snead, Tyler Rotgers and Blake Rotgers.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jimmy was born April 25, 1936, in Parkin, Arkansas, son of the late Jessie Murl and Lillian (Shelton) Neal. He married Florence (Webb) Neal November 14, 1953. Jimmy retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 26 years of service. He was the founder of The Neal Family singing group and was a musician and gospel singer. Jimmy was a member of Greater Vision Church. He had taught Adult Sunday School Classes in the Church of God for 60 years.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Florence Neal of Union City; one son, Danny Neal and wife Cathy of Hayti, Missouri; two daughters, Tina Argo and husband Melvin and Tammy Rotgers and husband Robin all of Union City; four sisters, Lois Hale and Wilma Irvin both of Osceola, Arkansas, Paula Hill of Ward, Arkansas and Sammie Byrd of Cabot, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren, Rachael Neal, Lisa Neal Argo, Brandon Neal, Mandy Barner, Michael Argo, Christy Pickard, Savannah Blankenship, Houston Snead, Tyler Rotgers and Blake Rotgers; 18 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.

He was also preceded by one granddaughter, Stacey Neal Cox; two sisters, Marilyn Britt and Shirley Woody; and one brother, Bobby Neal.
