Jimmy Kirk, 75, of the Shawtown community passed away 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Troy First Baptist Church. Brother Rick Roberts and Brother Tony Jones will officiate.

Visitation will be held at Troy First Baptist Church from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Gray, Lynn Parish, Larry Daniels, Keith Kendall, Kenneth Basham and Raymond Jones.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jimmy was born June 21, 1947, in Union City, son of the late James Everett and Minnie Lou (Carter) Kirk. He married Cheryl (Basham) Kirk March 19, 1988. She survives. Jimmy retired as construction supervisor with United Cities Gas Company after 35 years of service. He served in the United States Army for 20 years and was a member of Troy First Baptist Church.

He is also survived by one daughter, Michelle Willcutt (Teddy) of Union City; three sons, Kyle Kirk (Jennie) of Troy, David Scheland of Dyersburg and Brad Scheland (Sarah) of Union City; two brothers, Barrey Kirk (Letitia) of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Keith Kirk (Sonja) of Decaturville; nine grandchildren, Joshua Willcutt, Jared Willcutt, Collin Kirk and Candace Scheland all of Union City, Kayla Patton of Clinton, Kentucky, Kameron Kirk of Obion, Cailyn "Sassy" Kirk of Troy, Samantha Scheland of Germantown and Brooke Scheland of White Fish, Montana; and fifteen great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter, Cassidy Kirk.
