Jimmy Ray Burgess, 83, of Greenfield passed away Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Christian Care Center in Medina. He was a former resident of Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Jim McGee will officiate. There will be no graveside service. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Jimmy was born July 31, 1940, in Ridgely, son of the late Clyde Wayne and Sara Ruth (Russell) Burgess. He married Mary (Storey) Burgess June 7, 1963. She preceded him in death May 20, 2019. Jimmy had been employed as director of technical services at the former Gurien Finishing in Union City.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Angelia and Rodney Howard of Greenfield; his son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Rhonda Burgess of Jackson; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Inita Pickett and Clara Volner; and two brothers, Wayne Burgess and Jerry Mack Burgess.
