Jimmy D. Bell, 83, of the Shawtown community passed away Thursday morning, August 10, 2023, at his home.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday at Cobbs Chapel Cemetery. Brother Tommy Roper will officiate.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Jimmy was born December 8, 1939, in Samburg, son of the late William Arthur "Pretty" and Fannie Marie (Baker) Bell. He retired from Allen Searcy Building Contractors after 26 years of service and was a member of Star of Bethlehem Assembly of God.
He is survived by two sons, Mardy Bell and wife Lyndy and Tony Bell and wife Lisa all of Hornbeak; two daughters, Letechia Valladarez and husband Jerry of Terrell, Texas and Amanda Powell and husband Doug of Union City; three sisters, Vernie Wilson and husband Darrell of Sparta, Michigan, Mary Jane Bell of Union City and Wanda Busby of Colorado Springs, Colorado; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Mae Copeland and Norman Jean Tarr; and one brother, James Alfred Bell.
