Mr. Jimmy Armstrong, 61, of Union City died 8:00 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009, at Union City Manor Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery. Brother Jerry Leggett will officiate.

Mr. Armstrong was born August 23, 1947 in Union City, son of the late James and Swan (Archer) Armstrong. He married the former Elaine Parham. She survives. He retired after 25 years as a self employed plumber and electrician.

Survivors include two daughters, Amy (Rodney) Myers of Troy and Hope Armstrong of Union City, two sons, Matt (Teresa) Armstrong of Gleason and Christopher Armstrong of Union City, three grandchildren, Aubrie Armstrong of Gleason and Allison and Audrey Myers of Troy.

The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service on Saturday.

Pallbearers to serve are: Robert Reid, Andrew Byars, Rodney Myers, Donnie Edmundson, Gary Pickering, Larry Pickering, Roger Parham and Richard Hanks.
