Jimmie Lee Lewis 1947-2009
Mr. Jimmie Lee Lewis, 61, of Union City died 8:04 a.m. Sunday, July 5, 2009, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery. Brother Eddie Mallonee will officiate. Masonic services will follow.
Mr. Lewis was born October 15, 1947, in Tiptonville, Tennessee, son of the late Lee John and Alma Janice (Griffin) Lewis. He married the former Anna Marie Gray on June 8, 1991. She survives. He had been employed as a disc jockey for WENK, had been a Union City police officer and retired from E.W. James & Sons in Union City as dairy manager. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Union City, Western Sun Masonic Lodge #88 in Troy and served in Germany in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
He is also survived by one daughter, Lee Ann Lewis of Union City; one son, John William Lewis of Memphis; one stepson, Patrick Shane Patterson of Shreveport, Louisiana; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Marsha Lewis of Obion and Dennis and Nancy Lewis of Hollow Rock; three grandchildren, Miccah Lewis of Mojave, California and Raven Perry and Cadin Lee Perry both of Union City; two stepgrandchildren, Savanah Patterson and Khnor Patterson both of Shreveport, Louisiana; and four brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Chris and Teresa Gray and Joseph and Angie Gray all of Obion, Mike and Terri Todd of Union City and Mark and Brenda Gray of South Fulton.
The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday.
Pallbearers to serve will be Lewis Solomon, Jack Moran, Logan Gray, Travis Johnson, Casey Hood and Joey McKnight.
Honorary pallbearers to serve will be John and Jackie Ford.
