Jimmie E. Cooley, 83, of Hickman, Kentucky passed away 6:50  p.m. Sunday, August 20, 2023, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hickman. Deacon Brent Kimbler will officiate. Burial will follow in Hickman City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Roy Eddington, Hunter Woods, Jim Williams, David Kaufman, Joe Wall and Mark Phipps.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jimmie was born August 4, 1940, in Hickman, son of the late James and Katie (Estes) Cooley. He married Patricia Ann "Pat" (Kaufman) Cooley August 4, 1960. She survives. Jimmie had been employed  as a purchasing agent for Sigri Carbon in Hickman and retired from Ingersoll Rand in Mayfield.  He lead singing at First Baptist Church in Hickman for 26 years and was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Jimmie loved playing the piano, listening to music and farming.

He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Roy Eddington of Hickman;  two grandchildren, Leslie Woods of Hickman and Lindsay Allen (Jon Paul) of Olive Branch, Mississippi; two great grandchildren, Hunter Woods of Hickman and Emberli Allen of Olive Branch, Mississippi; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Whitby; and his grandson-in-law, Robby Woods.
