Obituary

Mr. Jim Sharp, 68, of Union City passed away 6:57 p.m. Monday, July 2, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Brooks, Dale Pate, Richard Hanks, Wesley McClure, Bonnie Johnson and Gary Fields.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Gideons International, P.O. Box 191, Union City, Tennessee 38281 or Calvary Baptist Church, 2250 East Reelfoot Avenue, Union City, Tennessee 38261.

Jim was born June 25, 1950, in Lakeview, Michigan, son of the late Chester Arthur and Arleene Orphia (Davison) Sharp. He married Deanna (Bergeron) Sharp September 1, 1973. She survives. Jim had been employed as store manager for the former K Mart in Union City until 1995. He then was the owner and operator of Natures Herbs in Union City. Jim was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon and was a member of the Wesley McClure Sunday School Class. He also served as treasurer of the Gideons International Union City Camp.

He is also survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roderick and Heather Sharp of Union City; one daughter, Angelina Halbrook of Woodstock, Georgia; four grandchildren, Destiny Sharp and Owen Sharp both of Union City and Victoria Halbrook and Laci Halbrook both of Woodstock, Georgia; one great grandson, Paxton Priest of Union City; two sisters, Janice Alt of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Virginia Cowles of Black Creek, Wisconsin; and two brothers and one sister-in-law, Larry and Debbie Sharp of Mecosta, Michigan and Art Sharp of Morley, Michigan.
