Obituary

Mr. Jimmie Lee Kirby, 80, of Union City, Tn. passed away 5:10 a.m. Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City, TN.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Monday at Zion Cemetery near Elbridge, TN.  Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Monday.
Mr. Kirby was born January 25, 1941, in Corning, Arkansas, son of the late Luther "Doc" and Ethel (Johnson) Kirby.  He married Patsy Lou "Pat" (Burden) Kirby May 5, 1979.  She survives.  He was a salesman for the former Homestead and Otasco.  Mr. Kirby was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he was an usher and member of the J.T. Jones Sunday School Class.
Mr. Kirby, known as Gramps and Granddaddy to his grandchildren and great grands, was a gentle spirit with a deep love for his family. He was loved by many and will be truly missed.
He is also survived by three daughters, Tonta Mauter (Barry) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Sonya Burks (B.J.) of Roellen, TN and Vanessa Akins (Brad) of Bogart, Georgia; one son, Bradley John Skaret (Kathy) of Panama City Beach, Florida; six grandchildren, Rebecca Harris of Union City, TN; Page Holifield (Michael) of Hartselle, Alabama;  Kaity Spangler (Daryll) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Casey Horton (Caleb) of Bogart, Georgia; Lainey Cosentino (Trey) of Carlisle, Iowa and Chase Miller of Bogart, Georgia; eight great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Kirby, one sister, Alma Jean Moore and one brother, Don Kirby.
