Jewel Mealer Richardson, 74, of Union City passed away 6:08 a.m. Friday, October 8, 2021, at AHC Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at First Church of God in Union City. Brother Ron Gray will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at First Church of God from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jewel was born August 16, 1947, in Obion County, daughter of the late Coleman Porter and Florence Lee (Hubbs) Mealer. She was a member of First Church of God and had been employed at Carl's Furniture in Union City.

She is survived by two daughters, Tina Hodge and Emily Richardson both of Union City; one granddaughter, Alivia Webb of Union City; one great granddaughter, Aurora Jade Witten of Union City; two sisters, Bessie Gathings of Kenton and Betty Webb and her husband Harold of Obion; one brother, Porter Mealer of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Nancy Langley, Annie Lou Mabry, Loretta Lynn Mealer and Minnie Pearl Powell.
