Obituary

Mrs. Jessie (Walker) White, 102, of Union City passed away 5:54 p.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Bob Stephens of Union City.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Norman Williams will officiate. Burial will follow in Stanleys Chapel Cemetery near Union City.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Ray Burden, Billy Reese, Jimmy Jones, Gary Houston, Bill Flood, David Johnson and Jody Kizer.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. & Mrs. Leroy Owens, Mr. & Mrs. Billy Crawford, Bobbie Adams, Susie Flood and Bill Burkett.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to First Baptist Church, 500 East Church Street, Union City, Tennessee 38261.

Mrs. White was born September 23, 1915, in Weakley County, daughter of the late Joe and Lassie (Hazlewood) Walker. She married Willie White October 30, 1937. He preceded her in death April 21, 1971. Mrs. White was the oldest member of First Baptist Church in Union City where she was prayer chair of the Margaret Morrisette WMU Cirlce, the Lael Sunday School Class where she served as secretary, a member of the 39er's group, and the former stair steppers choir. She was also a homemaker.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, John (Kami) George of Mannford, Oklahoma, Stephanie (Darryl) Beasley of Nashville, Brian (Anna) Stephens of Gallatin and Joe George of Louisville, Kentucky; eight great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one step grandson; several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Johnny White; four brothers; and two sisters.
