Obituary

Jennifer Fisher Matheny 61, of Troy went home to be with the Lord 9:00 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2019, at her home after a long battle with cancer.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Rev. Jerry Rollins and Rev. Robert Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday and from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Jennifer was born February 28, 1958, in Jackson, Tennessee, daughter of the late Rev. James and Lucille (Smith) Fisher. She spent the first 13 years of her life in Decaturville before moving to Mt. Pleasant. Jennifer was a graduate of Mt. Pleasant High School in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. Jennifer attended Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee. She married Rev. William "Bill" Matheny March 23, 1979. He survives. Jennifer was a homemaker and a member of Graves Chapel Church of God. She loved to cook, sew and tend to her flower and vegetable garden.

She is also survived by one daughter, Denise Sullivan of Castalian Springs; three sons, Bobby Matheny (Larae) of Iaeger, West Virginia, Shane Matheny (Kim) of Alexandria, Tennessee and Josh Matheny (Tara) of Dyersburg; seventeen grandchildren, Miranda Matheny, Garrett Matheny (McCall) both of Union City, Erica Cline (Gentry), Morgan Cline (Jeremy) and Braxton Matheny all of West Virginia, Nicole Cummins of Castalian Springs, Ali Sullivan of Knoxville, Salem Sullivan of Cookeville, Zach Greer (Paige) and Austin Matheny of Hickman, Kentucky, Cameron Matheny of Brownsville, Kentucky, Brianna Matheny and Jonathon Moore both of Dyer, Chandler Matheny and Colton Matheny both of Dyersburg and Madison Garcia and Kristen Garcia both of Watertown; several great grandchildren; one sister, Betty Allen of Jackson; and two brothers, Danny Fisher of Jackson and Jim Fisher (Sandy) of Paris.

She was also preceded in death by her great grandson, Greyson Knox Matheny.
