Elizabeth Jeanette Cartwright, 79, of Hickman, Kentucky passed away 11:00 a.m. Saturday,
January 14, 2023, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Johnie Dalton will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday and from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be John Wayne Willett, Josh Willett, Matt Willett, Santee Hunter, Tyler Hunter and Chase Elliott.
Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Lawrence, Dalton Edmaiston, Linden Scarbrough and Dan Cleek.
Jeanette was born August 18, 1943, in Des Arc, Arkansas, daughter of the late James A Hunter and Sarah Mae (Schembra) Hunter. She worked for the Fulton County School System for several years where she retired and then went to work at H&R Block where she worked for 15 years. Jeanette attended Mt. Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Jane Jackson (Paul) of Union City; two sons, John Mathews (Jeannie) and Jeremy Mathews all of Hickman, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Jonah Mathews (Riley), Sarah Mathews and Jessica Edmaiston (Dalton) all of Union City, Christina Scarbrough (Linden) and Jennifer Jackson all of Troy and Jada Mathews and Jason Mathews both of Hickman, Kentucky; two great grandchildren, Hailey Isbell and Ryker Edmaiston both of Union City; four step daughters, Joyce Lawrence (Scott) and Cindy McWhorter (Rick) all of South Fulton and Diana Finch (Marty) and Debe Canaday (Bob) all of St. Louis, Missouri; two sisters, Mary Jane Fowler and Charlotte Willett both of Union City; five brothers, James Louis Hunter of Hickman, Kentucky, Loyd Hunter of Troy, Freddie Hunter and Samuel Hunter both of Union City and Ricky Hunter of Dover, Arkansas; 15 step grandchildren; 27 step great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, John Mathews of August 3, 2007; her second husband, Dan Cartwright, Jr. on May 29, 2014; one step grandson, Brandon Canaday; four sisters; and two brothers.
