Jean (Fussell) Owens, 75, of Troy passed away 12:30 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City. Her husband George Tillman Owens, 78, of Troy passed away 1:30 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Rev. Judd Mowery will officiate. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery near Troy.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Jeremy Quinn, Christopher Quinn, T.J. Brown, Jamie Beasley, Eugene Baker and Levi Stover.

She was born October 22, 1948, in Union City, daughter of the late Robert and Christine (Dildy) Fussell. Jean and George were married on January 11, 1964. Jean retired from the Tennessee Regional Health Office in Union City as a receptionist after 25 years of service. She was a member of Troy Methodist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbie Burpo and husband David of Hornbeak and Bridget Owens of Troy; five grandchildren, Jeremy Quinn and Christopher Quinn and wife Claire all of the Shawtown community, Kadie Baker and husband Eugene of Dukedom, Brooke Burpo of Hornbeak and Kodie Robbins of Troy; and seven grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Little Wayne Quinn; and her brother, Butch Fussell.
