Mrs. Merrell was born July 31, 1923, in Obion County, daughter of the late Ed and Annie (Pruitt) Chumley. She married Robert Merrell on Feb. 17, 1945. He died Oct. 11, 1974. She was a homemaker and a member of First Street Church of Christ in Union City.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Stroud of Cordova, Tn.; one grandson, Chris (Staci) Stroud of Columbus, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.

Graveside services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday at West Hill Cemetery near Rives with George Hickman officiating.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 10:00 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Chris Stroud, Don Edmundson, Larry Edmundson, Bill Ferrell, Kenneth Ferrell and Parks Hogan.
