Mrs. Jean Marie (Wright) Menees, 80, of Union City went home to be with the Lord 4:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at Van Ayer Healthcare in Martin.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Jerry Leggett will officiate. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Jason Menees, Jeremy Menees, Justin Menees, Craig Menees, Matt Snow, Christian Snow and Chris Wright.
Honorary pallbearers will be Leon Forrester and members of the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class at Second Baptist Church.
Mrs. Menees was born October 15, 1933, in Hickman County, Kentucky, daughter of the late C.L. "Monk" and Lucille (Fortner) Wright. She married William Edgar "Eddie" Menees December 21, 1949. He died December 17, 1986. She had been employed at the former Brown Shoe Company and was a retired cashier for 3 J's Convenience Store in Union City. She was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City, the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Glenda Menees of Martin; six grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Mark Menees; and her brother, Jerry Lee Wright.
