Mrs. Jean Barnett, 84, of Union City died 3:10 a.m. Friday, July 12, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.
Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of services Sunday.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Doughten, David Younger, Stevie Moore, Stratton Moore, Bobby Baker and Michael Fletcher.
Mrs. Barnett was born December 10, 1928, in Bardwell, Kentucky, daughter of the late Arthur and Jennie (Gorum) Terry. She married Lionell Barnett October 2, 1982. He survives. She had been employed as a surgical nurse at the former Obion County General Hospital and retired as a nurse for the late Dr. Kelly Avery.
Mrs. Barnett was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union City.
She is also survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Jean Wright of Union City and Richard and Sheila Wright of South Fulton; her sister, Polly Stanton of Riverton, Illionis; her sister-in-law, Helen Terry of Lone Oak, Kentucky; six grandchildren and their spouses, Tina and Bobby Baker of South Fulton, Lisa and Michael Fletcher and Dawn and David Younger all of Troy, Casey Wright of Mississippi and Treena and Stevie Moore and Bobby and Jenni Doughten all of Union City; and ten great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Anna Lee Summers, Virginia High and Juanita Terry; and four brothers, Hurrel Terry, William Mosby Terry, Arthur Glen Terry and John Wesley Terry.
