Hunter Jayce James, 20, of Union City passed away Saturday, March 5, 2022, at his home.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday at Troy First Baptist Church. Brother Bobby Barnett and Brother Eric Burress will officiate. Burial will follow in Rush Creek Cemetery in Cayce, Kentucky.
Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and at Troy First Baptist Church from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be John Wesley Martin, Preston Butler, Dustin Dotson, Connor Whaley, Joseph Garza and Cayden Hale.
Jayce was born November 28, 2001, in Union City, son of Luke James (Chastity Homra) of Union City and Jackie Martin (Jordan Davis) of Samburg. Jayce attended Obion County Central High School where he was a member of the football team and baseball team. He was a graduate of Penn Foster University. Jayce enlisted in the United States Air Force and graduated tech school earning thirty six hours of college credits. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of Walnut Log Baptist Church.
He is also survived by three sisters, Olivia Barker of Fulton, Kentucky, Gracie Ray Martin of Samburg and Hanna Homra of Union City; one brother, John Wesley Martin of Samburg; his grandparents, Claude and Lynne Morgan of South Fulton, Tommy James and Vanessa Petty both of Union City and Bobby and Tammy Barnett of Fulgham, Kentucky; his great grandparents, Billy and Jettie Wilkerson of Hickman, Kentucky; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his extended family, Kate and Brady Austin, DaniKate Austin and Johnny Lee Martin all of Union City.
He was preceded in death by one uncle, Will James; his great grandparents, Toonie and Arnell Spicer, Bud and Beulah James and Jack and Barbara Long.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
