Obituary

Mr. Jason Garner Williams, 47, of Union City passed away Thursday, July 25, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Pastor Justin Hiens and Dr. Jerrell White will officiate. Burial will follow in Hornbeak Cemetery near Greenfield.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Will Harris, Jack Harris, Keith Vander Steeg, Troy Shanks, Brad Moon, Clint Joiner and Tyler Alexander.

Honorary pallbearer will be Brian Mann.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to The Trent Elvis Williams TUTMA, c/o Security Bank and Trust, 1491 S. First Street, Union City, Tn. 38261.

Jason was born October 20, 1971, in Union City, son of Jerry and Brenda (Garner) Williams of Union City. He was a 1990 graduate of Union City High School where he was named offensive player of the year and most valuable player. Jason holds the record for most home runs while playing at UCHS. He also had played golf in high school. Jason attended Roane State Community College in Harriman on a baseball scholarship. He was employed as a truck driver for Tosh Farms in Henry. Jason was a member of Second Baptist Church in Union City.

He is also survived by his son, Trent Elvis Williams of Union City; two sisters, Michelle Harris of Union City and Angie Vander Steeg (Keith) of Tupelo, Mississippi; and his nieces and nephews, Lanzer Harris, Will Harris, and Jack Harris all of Union City and Mary Vander Steeg and Mandy Vander Steeg both of Tupelo, Mississippi.

He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Lewis and Mary Garner and Arthur and Evelynne Williams.
