Janice Faye Brechears, 83, of Union City passed away 8:38 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Bells Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Jack Henry will officiate. Burial will follow in Fremont Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

Pallbearers will be Jamie Matheny, Michael Paul Kirk, Michael Paul Kirk, Jr.,Robert Killion, Ronnie Webb, Jimmy Merritt and Mark Merritt.

Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Dane, Mike Killion and Morris Matheny.

Janice was born April 7, 1940, in Obion County, daughter of the late Willie B. and Hattie (Osborne) Killion. She married James Carlton "Bill" Brechears February 8, 1956. He preceded her in death April 14, 2015. Janice had been employed in the cafeteria of the former Dixie School and Lake Road Elementary for 31 years and was a seamstress. She was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Donna Dane and husband Gary of Union City and Shirley Jackson and Judy Mooney both of Alamo; three grandchildren, Jamie Matheny of Union City, Michael Paul Kirk (Dorian) of Newbern and Amanda Webb (Ronnie) of Medina; eleven great grandchildren, Scarlett Matheny, Rhone Matheny, Bailey Webb, Brooke Webb, Ellie Webb, Michael Paul Kirk, Jr. (Ashley), Catelyn Kirk, P.J. Andrew, Hayley Whitten (Zion), Madison Andrew and Erica Andrew; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Belinda Faye Brechears; her sister, Juanita Merritt; and her brother, James Robert Killion.
