Janey Paulette (Chilton) Church, 70, of Union City passed away 12:25 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2016, at her home.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Obion County Memorial Gardens. Dr. Melvin Poe will officiate.
There will be no visitation. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.
Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will be James Matheny, Gerald Harris, Harry Johnson, Don Gray, Perry Joe Williams and J.T. Jones.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Calvary Baptist Church Building Fund, 2250 East Reelfoot Avenue, Union City, Tennessee 38261.
Janey was born February 21, 1946, in Hickman, Kentucky, daughter of the late Walter and Ruth (Nichols) Chilton. She married James Church July 24, 1965. He survives. Janey was a homemaker and a retired sales clerk. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Union City and the J.T. Jones Sunday School Class.
She is also survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Dena and Stan Wheatley of Mebane, North Carolina; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Kelly Church of Jonesboro, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Hailey Wheatley of Mebane, North Carolina and Kellen Church, Peyton Church, Owen Church and Dawson Church all of Jonesboro, Arkansas; four sisters, Barbara Busby of Florissant, Missouri, Margie Washburn of East Prairie, Missouri, Susan Campbell of Memphis and Debbie Chilton of Scott City, Missouri; and one brother, Richard Chilton of Thailand.
She was also preceded in death by one sister, Carolyn Martin.
