James Evans Terrett, 86, of Union City passed away 12:40 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2025, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union City.

Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Greg Terrett, Kevin Terrett, Shannon Terrett, Caleb Terrett and Mike Aaron.

There will be no visitation and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the service.

Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James was born March 28, 1939, in Hickman, Kentucky, son of the late Evans Edward and Mildred Evelyn (Sudberry) Terrett. He married Anna May (Werner) Terrett September 23, 1961. She preceded him in death May 19, 2010. James retired from the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company after 26 years of service. He was a union representative who was very active with USWA Local 878. James served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed fishing and was a avid hunter.

He is survived by one daughter, Lisa Terrett and husband Vince Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana; three sons, Greg Terrett and Kevin Terrett and wife Kim all of Martin and Shannon Terrett of Union City; 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one great granddaughter, Charlee Kate O'Connor; and one sister, Beverly Callison.
