James Lawson Pinion, 77, of Union City died August 24, 2014 at his home.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Ebenezer Cemetery near Troy. Dr. Bobby Williams will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Phillip Pinion, Steve Pinion, Dave Davis, John Kerry Cook, Chad Norton and Jason Norton.
John Davis will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Mr. Pinion was born May 23, 1937, in Obion County, son of the late Burney and Lottie (Ragsdale) Pinion. He married Lauraette (Myers) Pinion August 24, 1963. She died September 22, 2004. Mr. Pinion was a retired employee for the State of Tennessee Highway Department where he had been employed for 40 years. He was a member of Mt. Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James and Lori Pinion of South Fulton; one son-in-law, Bobby Allison of the Shawtown community; three grandchildren, Emily Morris and Cory Pinion both of South Fulton and Macy Allison of the Shawtown community and one sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and Johnny Cook of Union City.
He was also preceded in death by his daughter,
Jan Allison
who died August 12, 2014; two brothers, Vernell Pinion and David Gene Pinion; and four sisters, Mary Evelyn Pinion, Margaret Louise Pinion, Ella Mae Fulcher and
Norma Dean Davis
