Mr. James M. Garland, 77, of Union City passed away 1:05 p.m. Friday, March 18, 2022, at Baptist Memorial Hospital DeSoto.

Memorial services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2022, in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother John Morgan will officiate.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of services Saturday.

James was born June 21, 1944, in Hickman, Kentucky, son of the late Wilma (Roberts) Rudicil. He married Wanda (Riley) Garland March 13, 1972. She survives. He worked as a riverboat pilot for over 30 years and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He is also survived by one son, Nick (Danielle)Garland of Rives; one daughter, Kim (David) Jeffrey of Paris; five grandchildren, Kara Ann Jeffrey, Tiffany (John) Westra, Adam (Rachel) Jeffrey, Caleb Garland and Kelsey Garland; seven great grandchildren; and two sisters, Charlotte Phipps of Hickman, Kentucky and Rose Marie (Ricky) Blincoe of Covington.
