Mr. Eugene Brown "Jack" Quinton, 78, of South Fulton died 7:35 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2010, at Van Ayer Manor in Martin.

Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. R.K. Kane and Mr. Quinton's children Rev. John Quinton and Rev. Jewel Quinton will officiate. Burial will follow in Terrace Hill Cemetery .

Mr. Quinton was born August 29, 1931, in Obion County, son of the late Edward Brevard and Sarah Frances (Storey) Quinton. He married the former Dolores Walsh on April 24, 1955. She survives. He graduated from the University of Maryland with a degree in agriculture, was a farmer, a United States Navy veteran who served in the Korean War and a member of the American Legion in Fulton, Kentucky. Mr. Quinton was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church where he served as song leader and was an avid bird hunter and bird dog trainer.

He is also survived by three daughters, Laura Quinton of Orlando, Florida, the Rev. Jewel Quinton of Lawton, Oklahoma and Lisa Morgan and her husband Joseph of Dresden; three sons, the Rev. John Quinton and his wife Gail of Dresden, Kenneth Quinton and his wife Lana of Sturgis, Kentucky and William Quinton and his wife Heather of Union City; twelve grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by five sisters, Connie Griffin, Louise Arnold, Ruth Tate, Janete Griffin and Angeline Nix and six brothers, Dane Quinton, Farris Quinton, Doyle Quinton, Harley Quinton, J.D. Quinton and Edward Quinton.

The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren, Nicholas Quinton, Brock Quinton, Katie Quinton, Sarah Quinton, Luke Quinton, Noah Quinton, Magan Werner, Alayna Owens, Joe Werner, Dillon Quinton, Levi Owens and Myra Morgan.
