Obituary

Jack Nelson Dutton, 76, of Union City passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, at his home.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home. Brother Ronnie Glisson will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at Edmaiston Mosley Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of services Thursday.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Moore, Timmy Moore, Skylar Irvan, Michael Irvan, Zach Goetz and Adam Hamrick.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Dutton and Clarence Dutton.

Jack was born October 11, 1948, in Gary, Indiana, son of the late Rufus Clarence and Lorraine (Dick) Dutton. He married Phyllis (Poole) Dutton July 3, 1965. She preceded him in death September 8, 2024. Jack had been employed at the former Steel Systems and retired from the maintenance department at Tyson Foods in Union City after 13 years of service. He was a member of the Union City Masonic Lodge and Reelfoot Baptist Church.

He is survived by two daughters, Deborah Dutton of Union City and Carolyn Goetz and husband Chuck of Dukedom; six grandchildren, Kevin Irvan, Michael Irvan, Tyler Moore, Timmy Moore, Kayla Hamrick and Zach Goetz; fourteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Richard Dutton of Union City and Clarence Dutton of Troy; and one sister, Brenda Boles of Muskegon, Michigan.

He was also preceded in death by four sisters, Rhonda Dutton, Rita Dutton, Mary Dutton and Violet Dutton; and two brothers, Randall Dutton and Wilson Dutton.
