Mr. Jack Hamblin Blair, 77, of Union City died 3:10 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014,
at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville.
Memorial services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Edmaiston-Mosley
Funeral Home. Brother Jerry Leggett and Seminarian Ruben Rivera will officiate.
There will be no visitation. Friends are asked to meet just prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions take the form of donations to Tn. Diamonds in the Ruff, P.O. Box 62, Union City, Tn. 38281.
Mr. Blair was born November 27, 1936, in Bristol, Virginia, son of the late Charles Franklin Blair, Sr. and Ruby Elizabeth (Houser) Blair. He had been the owner and operator of the former Blair Freight Systems. Mr. Blair was a wonderful supporter of Tn. Diamonds in the Ruff Rescue. He devoted many hours to rescuing homeless animals. He served in the U.S. Army Airborne at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Mr. Blair was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra (King) Blair of Union City; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Trent and Sharon Allman of Troy and Paul Allman of Union City; two daughters, Debbie Musser and Dawn Moore both of Bristol, Virginia; three sisters, Phyllis Barb of Bristol, Virginia, Polly Giardina of Florida and Peggy Kolodciej of New Hampshire; two brothers, Doug Blair of Baltimore, Maryland and Ronald Blair Bellamy of Bristol, Virginia; and four grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by one son, Tony Blair; two sisters, Charlotte Ann Blair and Pinky Willis; and one brother, Charles Franklin Blair, Jr.
