Mrs. Inither "Monk" Smith, 88, of Samburg died 6:49 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2013, at The Bridge at Ridgely.
Graveside services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak. David Roberson will officiate.
The family will receive friends at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home from 10:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Joe Whitson, Jr., Curt Vargo, Cory Robertson, George Bunch, Jr., and Vick Smith.
Mrs. Smith was born December 20, 1924, in Obion County, daughter of the late Charles D. and Eunice (Caksackkar) Lee. She had been employed at the former Salant & Salant in Obion and was a member of Samburg Assembly of God.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Danny and Shauna Smith of Samburg and Michael Smith of Jackson; eight grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fay Smith; four sons, Billy Smith, Sammy Smith, Jackie Smith and Ricky Smith; two brothers, Carl Lee and Charles Lee; and one sister, Etta Surprise.
